Boedi Otong
Born in Bandung in 1957, lives and works in Jegenstorf, Siwtzerland
Son of a well-placed Sundanese family, he was active in Arifin C Noer’s Teater Kecil in the mid 1970’s. He helped training the early Teater Sae’s members, then played a key role in reforming the group in 1977. Boedi has won awards for Best Director and Best artistic design in the Jakarta Youth Theatre Festival three years in succession (1981 – 1983). He collaborated with Afrizal Malna, on series of highly acclaimed produtions in which Sae’s pioneering experimental theatre between 1983 to 1993. He tehn moved to Switzerland where he in teh late 1990’s continued to perform in an experimental theatre and performance art in Europe.
