“undisclosed territory” merupakan salah satu kegiatan rutin tahunan yang diselenggarakan oleh Padepokan Lemah Putih Solo. “undisclosed territory” yang pertama diadakan pada tanggal 24-25 Maret 2007, telah melibatkan 13 seniman perfomance art Internasional dan 12 seniman dari Indonesia. Kegiatan yang diadakan selama dua hari penuh itu telah banyak menarik pengunjung yang jumlahnya sekitar 600 orang. Boris Nieslony, seorang seniman terkemuka berasal dari Jerman dan yang telah banyak mengkontribusikan hidupnya untuk perkembangan sejarah performance art di Eropa dan Internasional, hadir dengan lecture (ceramah terbuka). Selain bincang terbuka dengan para seniman, penayangan video dokumentasi karya-karya seni performance juga telah banyak menarik minat penonton, yang sebagian besar adalah peminat seni dari Solo, penduduk sekitar desa Plesungan dan Perumnas Mojosongo, mahasiswa ISI Surakarta dan Jogjakarta serta pengunjung dari beberapa kota lain di Jawa Tengah maupun Jawa Timur.
Pada tahun 2008, “undisclosed territory#2” yang diselenggarakan pada tanggal 10 sampai dengan 13 April 2008, telah melibatkan 28 seniman performance art, 20 dari manca dan 8 dari tanah air. “undisclosed territory#2”, telah menarik pengunjung yang memenuhi ruang-ruang pertunjukan dan ceramah serta diskusi-diskusi yang diselenggarakan.
Setelah belajar dari pengalaman tahun 2007 dan 2008 dan meningkatnya permintaan dan dukungan dari lingkungan seniman di Solo dan Jogja, Melati Suryodarmo dan Boris Nieslony sebagai kurator bersama dengan Padepokan Lemah Putih telah menyelenggaraan “undisclosed territory # 3” performance art event 2008 yang dijadwalkan pada:

Di areal Padepokan Lemah Putih Solo, Desa Plesungan, sebelah Utara Perumnas Mojosongo Solo.
Tema kuratorial pada “undisclosed territory # 3” mengambil tema filosofis khusus yang kali ini berkaitan dengan konteks kebudayaan manusia bukan dilihat dari bentuknya sebagai komoditi untuk dipertukarkan, melainkan memahami kebudayaan dari sudut pandang etnologis, atnropologis dan yang penting, memahaminya pada esensi dan dinamika perubahan-perubahan yang tersinkretiskan dengan pemahamannya kehidupan sehari-hari manusia. Pendekatan serupa ini telah banyak ditekuni oleh seniman-seniman performance art yang memiliki latar belakang senirupa maupun seni pertunjukan tari.
Atas dasar tema tersebut, kami telah memilih dan mengundang seniman-seniman baik dari tanah air maupun dari luar negeri untuk bertemu dan menampilkan karya-karyanya yang menarik untuk publik peminat seni di Indonesia.

Padepokan Lemah Putih adalah organisasi non-profit yang didirikan oleh Suprapto Suryodarmo pada tahun 1986 dan telah aktif menyelenggarakan kegiatan-kegiatan kesenian dan ikut menyumbangkan inspirasi-inspirasinya dalam perkembangan kesenian khususnya di kota Solo dan sekitarnya. Padepokan Lemah Putih, melalui system pengajaran informalnya telah memiliki jaringan pendidikan seni secara inetrnasional. Terletak di sebelah utara perbatasan Mojosongo Solo dan Karanganyar dan dengan fasilitasnya yang sederhana dan tetap menjaga ekologi alam dan sosial, Padepokan Lemah Putih tetap melanjutkan kegiatan-kegiatannya dengan gaya organisasi yang khas, sederhana dan sesuai dengan situasi perekonomian di Indonesia, sebagai metode pendorong semangat berkarya dan berproduksi dalam bidang kesenian. Padepokan Lemah Putih bergerak di bidang seni pertunjukan tari, teater, musik dan seni rupa, termasuk performance art dan seni media baru, baik bersifat tradisional maupun kontemporer.
Kegiatan ini terselenggara berkat swadaya dan kerjasama antara Padepokan lemah Putih dan seniman-seniman pesertanya, serta dukungan beberapa institusi dari dalam maupun luar negeri.
Melalui penyelenggaraan acara „undsiclosed territory#3“ ini, Padepokan Lemah Putih berharap bisa melanjutkan misi kerjanya yang diantaranya memperluas dan memperdalam perspektif publik maupun pelaku-pelaku seni dalam pemahamannya terhadap seni performance art dalam konteks kesenian, budaya, sosial dan kemanusiaan.

“Undisclosed Territory” is an annual performance art event which was held for the first time in March 2007 at the Padepokan Lemah Putih Solo, Indonesia.
This event is promoted to introduce and present performance art works by Indonesian and International performance artists.
The first “Undisclosed Territory” 2007 included works of 13 international and 12 Indonesian performance artists. All the international artists were participant artists at the “15th Performance Art Conference” which was held in Bali and was organized by ASA European and Padepokan Lemah Putih Solo. During the “Undisclosed Territory” 2007, a lecture held by Boris Nieslony (Germany), artists talk and video screening of performance documentation and short and long duration performances were included in the program. The three days full time program from 24th – 26th of March 2007, has attracted hundreds of local public and visitors from other cities. A group of students from ISI Jogjakarta dance department has intensively joined and stayed for the whole 3 days.
“Undisclosed Territory # 2” was the second Bali – Java connected project, which was based on the curatorial concept by Boris Nieslony. 16 artists from worldwide and 11 artists from Indonesia were participating at our four days full time scheduled program. We also had four interesting lectures held by Jürgen Fritz (Black Market International), Tran Luong (Doing Something else – Performane Art in Vietnam), Christine Biehler (Sculpture and/as an Action) and SS. Atieq Listyowati (Performance art in Indonesia).
From 10th to 13th of April 2008, Undisclosed Territory#2 has attracted immense number of public who are not only from the local art scene, but visitors came from other towns and especially our neighbourhood from the village around the area of Padepokan Lemah Putih.
The “Undisclosed Territory#3” invite around 14 artists (Indonesian and International) to realize presentations, video screening of participating artists previous works, lectures, several sessions of artists talk and performances. “Undisclosed Territory#3” is curated by Melati Suryodarmo (Indonesia) and Boris Nieslony (Germany)

For „Undisclosed Territory#3“, Padepokan Lemah Putih intends to provide time and space for work presentations, developing new understanding and opening dialogue between the artists and with the public within the context of performance art.
Padepokan Lemah Putih is a non-profit institution, founded in 1986 by Suprapto Suryodarmo, who offers training programs and workshops in the Amerta Movement, a movement-based expressive arts approach that integrates the Javanese philosophy and western dynamics. The school of Amerta Movement has become an established education part of the institution contributed supports for the continuation of the Padepokan Lemah Putih‘s other activities. Since the last 15 years, Padepokan Lemah Putih has been providing its facilitations and organizational contribution for local and international festivals of theatre, dance, performance art and visual arts, in traditional as well as contemporary context, such as Sharing Time, ‘Festival Seni Pasar Kumandang’ in collaboration with 15 traditional Solo markets, Srawung Seni Jejer Desa, Sharing Art & Shadow, Sacred Rhythm Festival, Sacred Rhythm, and many others. Since 2003, Padepokan Lemah Putih has been programming its regular activities, such as Lir-ilir, and Macaning performance events. The institute continues to be a centre for research, collaborations, workshops, training classes and performances.
