Him Lo

Born in 1980, Him Lo is a performance artist, painter, illustrator and poet on a quest to find out the form of existence in the city. He focuses in the relations between the ego and physical. Through violent and dark expression, he associated time with a sense of emergency.


Him’s performances include “Invisible Mark”, “Running Project”, “Leave Me + Build Me”, “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” and “Running West Kowloon”. As a poet and painter, Him is the author of three books, namely “Two swallows” published in 2004, “My beloved” in 2006 and “White” in 2008, illustrated his drawings and poems. He employs different media as tools to express his thoughts and feelings towards the city and humanity.


In 2007, he formed Artafter6, a public performance art group, to popularize performance art and encourage participation of Hong Kong citizens, promoting the idea of blending performance art with daily lives. The group’s works include “64”, “Sleeping together”, “Rock the MTR” and “Massage s0liTaiRe” in 2007, 2008 and 2009 respectively
