The Questioning Room #2″ Sabrina Koh & Marryane Yang, at FOI 5, Sculpture Square, Singapore, 2008

Sabrina Koh

(born 1978, Singapore) graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in MA Contemporary Practice (2009), and is a recipient for Lee Foundation and Kuam Im Thong Hood Cho Temple (NAFA) scholarship. She has performed in several art festivals in Germany, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.

Koh has become recognized for her works which explores the meditative questioning of paradox, especially the inherent contradictions in society. A multi-disciplinarian concern with concepts, Koh’s projects often centers around the human body as an ergonomic tool to existing sites/spaces as her main mode of expression. Koh continues to develop a ‘merged identity as both artist and interior designer, and uses this as a basis of her work’, taking an ambiguous artistic stance in order to create a web of complex associations and questions for the viewer. Through writing, performance and installation, she aspires to discover a realm beyond the conventional notion of answers.
